    Codependency

Codependency is a pattern of behaviour where one person excessively relies on another person for emotional support and validation, leading to a lack of self-esteem and a sense of inadequacy. This pattern often develops in relationships where there is a lack of mutuality, with one person taking on the role of caretaker while the other person takes on the role of needing constant care. To break this pattern, it is important for both individuals to work on developing their own sense of self-esteem and creating a more mutual relationship dynamic.

As a therapist, I specialise in helping individuals recover from codependency, build self-esteem, and improve confidence and build healthier relationships. My therapy services are designed to help clients recognise and break free from codependent patterns of behaviour, and develop healthy boundaries and coping mechanisms. Through a compassionate and collaborative approach, I work with clients to address the underlying issues contributing to their codependency, such as low self-worth, insecurity, and fear of abandonment. By incorporating talking and narrative therapy, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, I help clients build the skills and self-awareness necessary to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing.
